As principal restorer and president of Arslanian Furniture Restoration, John Arslanian was trained by ECR Conservation and Restoration in New York City. His training included the history of antique furniture, French polishing, and the use of historically correct materials such as shellac, hide glue, and earth pigments. He also learned proper repair and restoration techniques for antique furniture.
As the owner of ECR Restoration, Eli Rios worked in the industry his entire life. Eli acquired a degree in applied analytical chemistry for the conservation of antiques from Smithsonian's Conservation Analytical Laboratory. He worked at Sotheby's Restoration in New York City, and he taught applied analytical chemistry for the conservation of antiques at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
